Cormuin Ó Raghallaigh

Cormuin Ó Raghallaigh comes from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. His intial piano studies were with his Mother Áine and at the age of twelve he won a scholarship to St Finian's College, Mullingar. There he studied piano and organ with Pádhraic Ó Cuinneagáin and Shane Brennan.

Cormuin holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from NUI Maynooth. His teacher during this time was Leonora Carney. Cormuin's most recent teacher was Professor Reamonn Keary of the Royal Irish Academy.

In 1995 Cormuin won the John Benson Memorial Cup for Bach playing in the Senior Feis Ceoil, Dublin. He also won the Henry Loretto Cup at the 1998 sligo Feis Ceoil. He is the resident organist at Foxrock Parish Church and has been one of the official accompanists at the Newpark Music Festival since 2002.

Cormuin also teaches piano at Newpark Music Centre, Dunlaoghaire Music Centre and Rathdown Music Centre. He rejoined the Bray Choral Society in 2006 having also served as accompanist to the choir in 1998 to 1999.
